PROJECT OVERVIEW

Chaplin Station is located at the corner of Chaplin Crescent and Eglington Ave West. The Crosstown is a 19-kilometre light rail transit line (LRT). The LRT will connect west to east from Jane Street/Black Creek Drive to Kennedy Station. Ten kilometres will be tunnelled underground between Keele Street and Laird Drive and will continue east on an at-grade right-of-way separated from traffic to Kennedy Station, where it will join with a converted Scarborough RT line on an elevated structure. It is modern, fast, reliable, comfortable, and environmentally friendly.

SCOPE OF WORK

MultiTech was responsible for installing all mechanical equipment within the new station. All new plumbing drains were installed underground and within the embedded concrete. New water pipe distribution was run to connect new plumbing fixtures throughout the station and the HVAC services including all new supply, return and exhaust duct systems. Refrigeration piping distribution was completed for all the new AC split units. Heat tracing was applied to all water, storm, and drainage piping in unconditioned spaces. Due to the complexity of the project, MultiTech had to ensure all mechanical piping and duct sleeves were installed prior to any concrete pours. BAS controls were installed to communicate with the Crosslinx systems rooms and able to turn off certain mechanical equipment.
