PROJECT OVERVIEW

Royal Bank of Canada is a global financial institution with a purpose-driven, principles-led approach to delivering leading performance. It is with this in mind that the “stack” project was implemented. This project was to allow for the complete demo and fit out of multiple floors within RBC’s flag ship location at 200 Bay St. For this project to be considered a success, all work had to be completed while other bank floors were still occupied and operational. To avoid disturbing RBC’s employees and customers, a very select team was chosen to perform this work. This project was constructed to provide RBC employees with a close net community feel with a modern “open concept” work environment with updated amenities and finishes.

SCOPE OF WORK

We provided Sheet metal and plumbing services on this project. All work was highly coordinated with the general contractor to allow for as little disruption to existing fully functional floors. Our work on the plumbing side included the installation of various kitchenettes per floor with remote water bottle filling stations. We also installed various water sourced heat pumps serving new “lan rooms” on different floors. A revamped HVAC system was installed including multiple new VAV boxes and fan powered boxes throughout their space. We also installed all new grilles and diffusers to accommodate a new 24”x24” modern ceiling grid, which was replacing the older 48”x48” style grid.
