Construction of the new Rutherford GO station for Metrolinx. The infrastructure consists of a 6-story parking garage, station building, pedestrian bridge, and rail corridor. The Rutherford GO Station will also reroute Rutherford Rd so that traffic flow is no longer impacted by passing trains. This Metrolinx led project in tandem with Ellisdon and their sub-contractors inclusive of Multitech Trades Corp, will provide community benefits such as employment opportunities and expanded public transit.


The complete electrical provisions for the project including power distribution, intelligent lighting control, IP-based security systems, and an addressable fire alarm system. The electrical emergency provisions include a 1.25MVA Generator and a 60kVA UPS back-up system for critical loads. Multitech Trades Corp is proud to be a part of this project led by experienced site staff and a strong team of IBEW 353 electricians. Their ultimate goal at Rutherford GO Station is to provide electrical professionalism and efficiency by contributing to the transit evolution which will improve multiple communities of York Region.
